Urologic Oncology

Dr. Selo and his team are leaders in the field of urologic oncology. Most forms of urologic cancer, including cancers of the prostate, testicles, kidney, and bladder, are fairly common. Many are highly treatable if caught early. Dr. Selo's team specializing in using the most innovative, least invasive treatment options possible when treating urologic cancers.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer among men in America. When caught early, treatment for prostate cancer is highly effective. Dr. Selo focuses on choosing the least invasive treatments possible for prostate cancer, with a focus on maintaining the patient's quality of life by minimizing treatment side effects.

Testicular Cancer

Testicular is the most common type of cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 44, although overall it is a fairly rare form of cancer. Because many men are embarrassed about the condition, the American Cancer Society theorizes that more men may have the condition than the number that is recorded because many do not seek treatment. In the United States, 300 men die from testicular cancer each year. Since early treatment can cure the condition, prompt treatment is essential. The cancer needs to be diagnosed and treated before it spreads outside of the testicles.

Kidney Cancer

Kidney cancer can be difficult to diagnose because it has no symptoms in the early stages. As the disease progresses it can cause symptoms like blood in the urine, fatigue, lower back pain, weight changes, and loss of appetite. Treatment varies depending on the stage of the disease and the patient's age and health factors.

Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer is cancer that occurs in the lining of the bladder and is one of the most common forms of urologic cancer. In fact, among male patients in the United States, bladder cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer. Bladder cancer can affect people of all ages, but typically occurs in those over the age of 50.
